Kristin Cannon, LISW
Clinician
Kristin believes the foundation of effective therapy is a comfortable and trusting relationship. She takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach, meeting clients where they are, while also supporting growth in the areas that matter most to them.
Kristin works primarily with college students and young adults, as well as teens (ages 16+), with a special interest in helping people navigate life
transitions and identity development. She is EMDR-certified and trauma-informed, working with clients experiencing traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, and relationship challenges.
In her sessions, Kristin also uses body-based and parts-work approaches to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, build self-compassion, and feel more grounded in daily life.
Kristin earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Drake University. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Iowa. Kristin looks forward to walking alongside clients as they grow, heal and discover new possibilities for themselves.
