    Jenna Wagemester, LMSW

    Jenna Wagemester graduated from the University of Iowa in 2023 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker through the state of Iowa, working towards attaining her independent licensure. 

    Jenna was previously an intern counselor at Des Moines Area Community College where she assessed, treated, and worked beside a diverse population of individuals. She also has past experience working with a diversified range of adolescents. Jenna approaches therapy through a biopsychosocial lens, honoring the impact and interconnectedness biology, mental health, and social environments and relationships have on the human experience. She is passionate about bringing awareness to the mind-body connection that impacts wellness to assist her clients on their therapeutic journey.

    Jenna enjoys with with individuals (adults and adolescents over the age of 13), couples, and families. She enjoys working with clients who are impacted by trauma, interpersonal relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the criminal justice system. Her passion lies in trauma-informed care and attachment work, as she views the world through a system of experiences and relationships. Jenna’s approach is integrative and psychodynamic in nature. She utilizes modalities including Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Systems Theory-Based Therapy, and IFS-informed parts work. Jenna will soon be trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

    Jenna empowers her clients through a strengths-based and person-centered approach. She welcomes clients with a wide range of presenting concerns.
