Jenna Wagemester graduated from the University of Iowa in 2023 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker through the state of Iowa, working towards attaining her independent licensure. Jenna is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Jenna was previously an intern counselor at Des Moines Area Community College where she assessed, treated, and worked beside a diverse population of individuals. She also has past experience working with a diversified range of children and adolescents. Jenna approaches therapy through a biopsychosocial lens, allowing space to recognize the varying influences of human behavior, health, and experience. She is passionate about bringing awareness to the mind-body connection that impacts wellness to assist her clients on their healing journey.
Jenna sees children, adolescents, adults, and is very passionate about family and couples therapy. She enjoys working with individuals and families touched by trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, and the criminal justice system. Her passion lies in trauma-informed care and attachment work, as she views the world through a system of experiences and relationships. Jenna utilizes treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Systems Theory-Based Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy to aid her clients.
Jenna empowers her clients through a strengths-based and person-centered approach. She welcomes clients with a wide range of presenting concerns.
