Lauren graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2026 with a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Lauren also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Coe College. She is a temporary licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (t-LMFT) in the state of Iowa.
Lauren acknowledges that in today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or unfulfilled. Lauren uses a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy and strives to a create a warm, affirming, and inclusive environment for clients of all identities and life experiences. She values authenticity, humor, and creativity in the therapy room. Lauren’s passion is helping individuals find meaning and purpose in their lives, feel capable and heard, develop resilience, and find coping strategies that truly work for them.
Lauren takes a person-centered, relational approach and integrates Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Family Systems Theory in her work. Lauren enjoys incorporating expressive arts, movement, sand tray, values-based work, and play therapy techniques into sessions.
Lauren works with a wide range of clients and presenting issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, trauma, stress, life adjustments, and more. Lauren especially enjoys with working with high-achieving youth as well as children and adolescents navigating life and family adjustments. Lauren provides counseling to children ages 6 and older, pre-teens, adolescents, and adults for individual counseling as well as parents and families.
