How We Started
Dr. Susie Murray, Shannon Wilson, and Megan Rose began intensively planning to open Murray, Wilson & Rose Counseling and Behavioral Services (MWR) in 2013 with a vision to create our ideal work environment. We wanted to focus on the provision of individualized and high quality therapeutic services to individuals in the community without all of the “red tape” that made practicing in a client-focused and ethical manner much more challenging within employment in larger organizations.
Additionally, when MWR was created, we envisioned the creation of a group practice environment where the focus is consistently on holistic, individualized client care as well as on Clinician well-being. It is MWR’s position that these things are not mutually exclusive.
This desire drove us to create what we now call a semi-private practice model, where the goal is to integrate the benefits of agency work with the benefits of private practice work. This model is fundamental to our values and vision in so many ways.
Where We Are
Today, we have rebranded as MWR Counseling, LLC and we continue to work on creating and maintaining an enjoyable, collaborative, supportive environment that encourages professional growth and development as well as promoting work-life balance not only for us, but for everyone in our group. Remaining in alignment with our personal and professional values has been at the forefront of our decision-making as we have brought intention to growth. This growth has included expansion of the number of Clinicians on our team, client reach, as well as diversifying our business model to include the training and development of counselors-in-training and counselors who are newly entering the field. All of this supports our mission of supporting our team, our clients, and the community as a whole.
