Careers at MWR
How We Started
Dr. Susie Murray, Shannon Wilson, and Megan Rose began intensively planning to open Murray, Wilson & Rose Counseling and Behavioral Services (MWR) in 2013 with a vision to create our ideal work environment. We wanted to focus on the provision of individualized and high quality therapeutic services to individuals in the community without all of the “red tape” that made practicing in a client-focused and ethical manner much more challenging within employment in larger organizations.
Additionally, when MWR was created, we envisioned the creation of a group practice environment where the focus is consistently on holistic, individualized client care as well as on Clinician well-being. It is MWR’s position that these things are not mutually exclusive.
This desire drove us to create what we now call a semi-private practice model, where the goal is to integrate the benefits of agency work with the benefits of private practice work. This model is fundamental to our values and vision in so many ways.
Where We Are
Today, we have rebranded as MWR Counseling, LLC and we continue to work on creating and maintaining and enjoyable, collaborative, supportive environment that encourages professional growth and development as well as promoting work-life balance not only for us, but for everyone in our group. Remaining in alignment with our personal and professional values has been at the forefront of our decision-making as we have brought intention to growth. This growth has included expansion of the number of Clinicians on our team, client reach, as well as diversifying our business model to include the training and development of counselors-in-training and counselors who are newly entering the field. All of this supports our mission of supporting our team, our clients, and the community as a whole.
As a Clinician in the MWR semi-private practice model you can expect:
Consistent, reliable income.
Our clinicians are paid hourly for both billable and non-billable hours, meaning that your pay remains stable and will not be impacted by cancellations or no-shows.
Fully licensed clinicians have the opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses in addition to hourly rate.
MWR Counseling manages insurance denials, clawbacks, and liability – so you do not experience loss of income or repayments.
As an established practice, we take care of marketing so you are able to immediately begin receiving referrals and building your own case load.
Quality supervision.
Our experienced supervisors strive to create a supportive yet challenging experience to foster growth throughout the supervision process. Supervision is not only provided free of charge – you are paid for the time spent in supervision and consultation.
Once fully licensed, our commitment to supervision and ongoing consultation continues. We have bi-weekly 90 minute team meetings that are focused on enhancing your learning and growth as a clinician and team member.
Autonomy.
Create your own schedule with family-friendly scheduling, including no evening requirement and flexibility to attend appointments, personal activities, etc.
Determine the clientele you are interested in working with.
Clinicians are paid for non-billable time, which creates the opportunity for you to pursue your own interests and passion projects – groups, community outreach, speaking engagements, and more – all while on the clock.
Collaborative team environment.
Our team includes mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, and rehabilitation counselors. We love bringing clinicians with different backgrounds together to foster an environment with differing perspectives and skills sets.
We offer both structured and unstructured opportunities for consultation, collaboration, professional growth, and FUN!
Professional growth.
Our clinicians have expertise in the areas of maternal mental health, trauma-focused therapy, exposure and response prevention, and cognitive behavioral therapy. We welcome the opportunity and are uniquely suited to support new clinicians in further developing their training and experience in these areas, as well as your own personal areas of interest outside of these specializations.
Balance.
The health and well-being of each member of our team is important to us. You set your own hours, take off the time you want and need, and all work stays at work. This is especially important for new counselors as they may need more guidance in boundary setting with both clients and their own desire to go above and beyond.
Additional benefits:
Health, vision and dental insurance
3 weeks of PTO accrued annually
6 paid holidays
Annual continuing education stipend
All technology, office furnishings, and therapy supplies provided
Administrative office staff to manage all scheduling, billing, and insurance needs
A 3% IRA match
