Trauma-Focused Therapies: EMDR, ART, WET, & EFT
MWR offers multiple approaches to addressing post-traumatic stress symptoms, including:
EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR works by integrating bilateral stimulation – rhythmic stimulus from left to right – to reprocess memories. EMDR is a structured therapy with specific phases to support you in developing coping tools, gaining insight into patterns, and reprocessing memories. EMDR is provided by Natalie Dalton, Shannon Wilson, and Molly Martin.
ART: Accelerated Resolution Therapy
ART combines guided eye movements and imagery re-scripting to rapidly resolve distressing images and memories, often in as little as 1-3 sessions. ART therapy is provided by Cody Bochert and Megan Rose.
WET: Written Exposure Therapy
WET is a brief therapy that utilizes structured writing exercises to reduce the emotional impact of traumatic experiences. WET is provided by Isaac Deike.
EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique
Often called “tapping”, EFT combines gentle tapping on specific points of the body with focused attention on emotions, thoughts, or stressful experiences to reduce emotional distress, ease anxiety, and support a greater sense of calm and emotional balance. EFT is provided by Christina Carlson.
